Sustainable Production

Goals

We produce stylish, long-lasting everyday clothing & accessories. We want to do this in a way that is fair for everyone involved, and with care for the environment. This means taking responsibility for the impact of our products throughout their life cycle. Special emphasis is put on efficient manufacturing, using organic & recycled fabrics where possible, as well as offering repairs for our goods. Our conviction is that this will ultimately produce better economic, environmental, and social outcomes.

We aim to produce all our goods with organic and recycled fibers by 2023. We are constantly on the lookout for innovative ways to achieve and surpass our goals.

Production Network

We have a large database of local suppliers with various skills and company size ranging from small teams of 3 to larger factories of 100+ within the garment manufacturing industry. This gives us a great competitive edge to be first on the market with goods and & services.

The process by which each OGŪN product is manufactured is subject to critical scrutiny. Processes that do not affect product quality such as unneeded finishing, sorting or sizing are eliminated, leaving only these processes that are truly necessary for a quality product.

You should know how your products are manufactured and by whom – the best way for us to make sure of this, is by being transparent. One of our deepest joys is knowing who our business supports, as well as helping our manufacturing partners and their families grow as we grow. We visit our factories weekly and talk to those who work there – most of them are mothers and fathers who talk and enjoy themselves. It is important for us that they thrive as this ultimately has an effect on the quality of the products we produce.

For competitive reasons, we do not have specific factory names, but you can email us at customerservice@ogun.co.za if you are wondering more about our manufacturing process.

Sourcing

Most of our raw materials are sourced direct from manufactures both locally and internationally. We believe by cutting out the middlemen, we can not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also minimise unnecessary waste in costs and logistics.

Working Conditions

Our products are made under good working conditions and in a safe environment at all our suppliers. This includes the right of all workers to join trade unions, the right to a living wage, reasonable work hours, safe working conditions as well as legally binding employment contracts. Child labour and all forms of discrimination are strictly banned.
